Why Attend

Shipping Economics shapes every commercial decision in the maritime industry, from newbuilding orders and fleet deployment to freight rate negotiation and investment timing. The Freight Market Analysis and Shipping Economics for Maritime Professionals Training Course, gives maritime professionals the analytical tools needed to read freight markets, interpret shipping cycles, and forecast rate movements with greater confidence. Participants learn how supply and demand fundamentals, newbuilding and scrapping trends, and global maritime trade patterns combine to drive freight rates across dry bulk, tanker, and container segments. The course places strong emphasis on practical market analysis, including how to track and interpret the Baltic Index and other benchmark indices, how to build simple market forecasting models, and how to translate economic signals into commercial and chartering decisions. Rather than presenting shipping economics as academic theory, this training course uses real market data, historical cycles, and case-based exercises so that participants leave able to assess market conditions, anticipate freight rate movements, and support informed decision-making across chartering, investment, and operational functions.
